Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 105 kilometers northeast of Stettin and about 4 kilometers southeast of the center of Kolberg . North of the historic village center runs from southeast to northwest the Voivodship Road 163 , the course of which here corresponds to the former Reichsstraße 124 , whereby the development now extends to the Voivodeship road and along the Voivodeship road.

history

The first documented mention of the village comes from the year 1287. At that time, the bishop of Cammin, Hermann von Gleichen , donated half of the then "Neckanin" village, which members of the noble Glasenapp family had previously had as a fief from the bishop, to the city of Kolberg . The city had this donation confirmed by the successors of the bishop, namely in 1290 by Bishop Jaromar and in 1298 by Bishop Peter . The following bishop, Heinrich von Wacholz , sold the other half of Necknin to some Kolberg citizens according to a document from 1304.

It is known that a Stralsund citizen named Konrad Wiese from Kolberg made a will in 1329, in which, among other things, he designated 20 Kolberger Marks for the repair of the path near the Hohe Berg near Necknin.

Half of the village share that Kolberg citizens had acquired came into the possession of the Kolberg Cathedral Chapter , half into the possession of the Kolberg St. Georgs Hospital .

On the Great Lubin map of the Duchy of Pomerania from 1618, the place is entered as "Necmin".

Before the Seven Years' War there were 7 full-time farmers, 1 half-farmer and 1 cosset position in Necknin. Necknin was burned down during the Seven Years' War. After the war it was rebuilt in the form of a two-line street village . Initially it received 8 full-time farmers, 4 of which belonged to the city of Kolberg, 2 to the Kolberg Cathedral Chapter and 2 to the Kolberg St. Georgs Hospital.

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784) Necknin is listed as a Kolberger town owned village. At that time there were 9 farms and 2 Büdner farms, a total of 13 households (“fire places”).

Around 1860 there were 24 residential buildings in Necknin, including the school building, and 29 farm buildings. 42 horses, 170 cattle, 124 country sheep, 44 pigs and 7 goats were kept.

There was a brick factory in Necknin as early as 1850. Around 1900 it was rebuilt north of the Kolberg – Körlin road. It was officially listed as a residential area with the place name Martensche Ziegelei (1905: 6 inhabitants). Around 1880 a “rescue house for morally endangered children” was set up north of the Kolberg – Körlin road. It was officially listed as a place to live with the place name of educational home (1905: 21 inhabitants).

Until 1945, the rural community of Necknin with the Martensche brickworks and educational home belonged to the Kolberg-Körlin district in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , Necknin was captured by the Red Army on March 4, 1945 . In 1945 Necknin, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The population was evicted and replaced by Poles . The place name was Polonized to "Niekanin". Today the place belongs to the Gmina Kołobrzeg (rural municipality Kolberg) .
