While Zihlschlacht fell to Zurich via the von Muralt in 1769 , Blidegg came to the barons of Thurn-Valsassina via the Giel von Gielsberg in 1758 . In 1798 the rule was revoked and the castle was sold. The tower was probably demolished around 1850. The block building still standing today dates from the 17th / 18th centuries .
