Blidegg Castle

The ex 1275 occupied castle is considered ancestral castle of the Barons of Blidegg and was like the same court rule episcopal konstanzisches fiefdom . The St. Gallen monastery also acted as a feudal lord in Blidegg and presumably held the homage and team rights from the 16th century onwards. The jurisdiction with Blidegg, Degenau , Hüebli and Zihlschlacht belonged at the latest from 1379 to the Ryff, also known as Welter von Blidegg, and from 1561 to the barons of Hallwyl .

After denominational disputes, the rule was divided in 1736. While Zihlschlacht fell to Zurich via the von Muralt in 1769 , Blidegg came to the barons of Thurn-Valsassina via the Giel von Gielsberg in 1758 . In 1798 the rule was revoked and the castle was sold. The tower was probably demolished around 1850. The block building still standing today dates from the 17th / 18th centuries . Century and was completely rebuilt as a manor house in 1918.
