Career

Sebastian Hering started wrestling at the age of 10 in Munich and achieved initial success in the youth field. He learned to be a locksmith and was employed by the Deutsche Reichsbahn . In 1930 and 1931 he fought for Jahn Göppingen , returned to Munich and joined the RTSG Neuaubing . As a 20-year-old he was able to qualify for participation in the European Championships in Prague . For the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 and for the European Championships in 1933 and 1934, his path was blocked by his fellow wrestler from Munich, Wolfgang Ehrl . Sebastian Hering was a so-called “hunger artist” who repeatedly managed to lose many kilos without losing too much substance in order to be able to start at featherweight. After 1936 he only wrestled in the light and welterweight division.

International success

In three international matches that he played for Germany, he achieved two victories.
