history

The ship was built under construction number 1270 at the Husum shipyard for the Swedish Rederi Centrumlinjen. The keel was laid on July 2nd, 1968, the launch on January 18th, 1969. The ship was delivered on April 12, 1969 and started sailing as Malmö on the ferry line between Malmö and Copenhagen under the Swedish flag .

In 1974 the ship was sold to the Hamburg company HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst , which had held a 50 percent stake in Rederi Centrumlinjen since 1971. The ship, which was brought under the flag of Germany, remained in the charter of Rederi Centrumlinjen in the ferry service between Malmö and Copenhagen. When Rederi Centrumlinjen defaulted in paying the charter rate in October 1975, HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst brought the ship to Hamburg to prevent creditors from Rederi Centrumlinjen from chaining it. In December 1975, HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst sold the ship to the Förde shipping company in Flensburg. The new name of the ship was Seemöwe II . The Förde shipping company used the ship for excursions in the Flensburg Fjord and later also for butter trips on the Baltic Sea .

In 1989 the ship was rebuilt at the Lindenau shipyard in Kiel .

Through the merger of the Förde shipping company with the shipping company Seetouristik, the Seagull II came to the Förde shipping company Seetouristik, which it continued to use on the Baltic Sea.

After the discontinuation of the butter trips within the EU in the summer of 1999, attempts were made to employ the ship elsewhere. However, the experiments proposed is missing and the ship was in September 1999 in Lübeck launched . In October 1999 the ship was chartered to the Greil shipping company in Neustadt in Holstein , which used it for excursions under the name Amadeus . There are also reports that attempts were made to use the ship as a restaurant ship.

In March 2003 the ship was sold to the Royal Stockholm Cruise Line in Norrköping . It was renamed Saga Lejon and brought under the Swedish flag with its home port of Mem . The ship including for trips on different routes was used Östergötland - Archipelago between Vastervik and Norrkoping and in the Stockholm archipelago .

From 2013 the ship was mainly used as a party and event ship in Norrköping in the winter half-year.

In October 2017 the ship was sold to Africa . Under the flag of Togo with home port Lome placed and Hawa III (sometimes Hawa 3 written) renamed ship was reportedly in the Gulf of Guinea between Togo and Cameroon are used. It was later said that the ship was registered as a private yacht. However, due to a lack of certificates, the ship was first detained in Karlskrona and then in Ystad . After an inspection by representatives of the flag state of Togo, the missing certificates were issued so that the ship could continue its voyage.
