Seidfeld is a district of the city of Sundern (Sauerland) in the Hochsauerlandkreis , North Rhine-Westphalia .

The place is about 1 kilometer southeast of Sundern. The road 686 leads through the village. In the village, the Asmecke flows into the Stockumer Bach .

The nature reserves Eissteinberg , Nassweide south of the great Kamp , Papenloh and juniper deposits in Graefenberg border on Seidfeld. To the northeast of Seidfeld is the natural monument of the Seidfeld coal-lime exploitation .

history

The Arnsberg Counts had considerable possessions in Seidfeld and other districts of Sundern, which were first mentioned in 1165. The place belonged to the former municipality of Stockum. In September 1955, flight operations began at the Sundern-Seidfeld glider airfield . In 2006 operations were closed and the square was dismantled.

As part of the municipal reorganization , Seidfeld was incorporated into the new town of Sundern on January 1, 1975. Since then the place has been a district of Sundern with Stockum and Dörnholthausen .
