Eistenberg nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Eistenberg nature reserve with a size of 1.9  hectares is located east of Seidfeld in the urban area of Sundern (Sauerland) in the Hochsauerland district . The area was designated as a nature reserve with the name Eissteinberg nature reserve for the first time in 1993 with the Sundern landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . When the Sundern landscape plan was reorganized, the NSG was shown again. But now with the name of the mountain on which it is located. The NSG borders on three landscape protection areas.

In the landscape plan from 1993 and in the specialist information system of the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia , the name Eissteinberg nature reserve is incorrectly stated, although the mountain is called Eistenberg .

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the forest is supposed to protect with species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
