Nature reserve Lean Grassland Alfloh

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Magergrünland Alfloh with an area of 5.2  hectares is located west of Linnepe in the urban area of Sundern and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2019 with the Sundern landscape plan . From 1993 it was designated as part of the Sundern nature reserve. The NSG goes to the edge of the village.

description

The NSG is a complex of poor pastures. On the steep eastern slope of the Linnepe valley there is a species and herb rich broom broom pasture. The landscape plan documents: “The mountain slope is partially stepped by cattle kick. The vegetation cover is gaps there due to the footsteps. In the upper part of the slope, there are very strong bushes in some areas. There are transitions to Fettweide on the hilltop and in the northwest part of the NSG. In the west, more poor grassland appears on steeper sections of the pasture. There are some smaller boulders in the pasture here. "

The landscape plan lists the value of the NSG: “Lean grassland rich in species and herbs used to be widespread in the low mountain range, but has now been pushed back due to intensification of use. Remaining larger areas with old sward and traditional cultivation like here are therefore particularly worth preserving. The area is therefore of regional importance in the network of lean grassland biotopes. "

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, it was designated as:

  • "Protection, conservation and development of poor grassland and its communities as stepping stone biotopes in intensively used agricultural landscapes."
  • "The NSG also serves to sustainably secure habitats that are particularly worthy of protection according to § 62 LG and the occurrence of rare animal and plant species."

bid

A special requirement was issued for the NSG . The command is "the grassland is to be grazed, preferably in accordance with the current management instructions" pasture "of the cultural landscape maintenance program of the HSK."

Development measure

As an additional development measure, the following was laid down in the landscape plan: "Emerging woody vegetation is to be removed in the area of the poor grassland, especially on the eastern slope, if necessary (Section 26 LG)."

Impairments to the NSG

In June 2018, illegal deposits of material were discovered in the protected area. Piles of earth were deposited on the highest crest and later spread over the poor grassland. On the western edge of the nature reserve there was a dirt road along with building rubble and wood cuttings. Despite the submission to the Untied Nature Conservation Authority of the District (UNB), the situation did not change until December 2019. According to the UNB, the case was being worked on.
