Papenloh nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Papenloh nature reserve with a size of 4.0  hectares is located between Stockum and Seidfeld in the urban area of Sundern (Sauerland) . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) with an area of 4.1 hectares for the first time in 1993 with the Sundern landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . When the landscape planner Sundern was reorganized, the NSG was re-identified and made slightly smaller. The NSG borders directly to the north, west and south of the Stockumer Bachtal landscape protection area and to the north-east, east and south-east of the landscape protection area outskirts between Stockum and Seidfeld .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the field trees and the species there. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
