from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Unterlauf des Krummeckesiepen with an area of 5.9  hectares is located north of Bainghausen or Westenfeld (Sundern) in the urban area of Sundern and in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2019 with the Sundern landscape plan . The area was previously designated as part of the Sundern nature reserve. The NSG is surrounded by spruce forest which is part of the Sundern nature reserve.

description

The NSG is the lower reaches of the Krummeckesiepen and the adjacent mountain slopes. The Krummecke runs in the NSG in a flat, wooded valley basin. The valley basin is partially swamped over a large area. The swollen and swampy areas are covered with alder trees. There are oak forests on the lower slopes of the mountain. In the northern NSG area there is a swelling and defensive area. The Krummeckebachlauf has meanders, steep and flat banks, underwashes and gravel banks.

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, it was designated as:

  • "Protection, preservation and optimization of a near-natural low mountain range section and its communities."
  • "The NSG also serves to sustainably secure habitats that are particularly worthy of protection according to § 30 BNatschG and the occurrence of rare animal and plant species."

Development measure

In the landscape plan, the following was laid down as an additional development measure: "Existing and emerging coniferous wood - including natural spruce regeneration - must be removed (Section 26 LG)."
