Krähetal nature reserve east of the Hermann pit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Krähetal nature reserve east of the Hermann pit with a size of 1.9  hectares is located south of the hamlet of Hüttebruchen in the urban area of Sundern (Sauerland) . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) for the first time in 1993 with the Sundern landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . When the landscape planner Sundern was reorganized, the NSG was identified again. In the west, the NSG borders directly on the former Hermann Mine nature reserve . Otherwise the landscape protection area borders Sundern .

description

Open area of the otherwise wooded upper Krähetal. The NSG comprises a section of the near-natural, partly meandering and in parts multi-armed stream of the Krähe. In the NSG there is a near-natural, partly spring-infiltrated creek-accompanying alder forest with coppice forest use characteristics and a wet meadow rich in rushes in places. The wet meadow is covered with bushes.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the area with the species there. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
