Erlenbruch Schneebecke nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Erlenbruch Schneebecke nature reserve with a size of 0.3 hectares was located northwest of Röhrenspring in the urban area of Sundern (Sauerland) . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1993 with the Sundern landscape plan . When the Sundern landscape plan was re-established in 2019, the NSG area became part of the Alsenberg / Schneebecke / Schlüsselsiepen nature reserve forest biotope complex .

Object description

200 m long on the natural lower course of the snow basin in the forest stream is a well-developed alder forest. In the south the NSG is bordered by a forest path, otherwise it is mainly surrounded by spruce forest. The alders are sometimes multi-stemmed. The area is crossed by a hiking trail. The Schneebecke-Bach meanders strongly here in the alluvial cone of the estuary due to the relatively low slope of the bed. In the Bachaue with its source areas, a structured grove and black alder forest with ash and spruce grows on both sides of the snow basin. The shrub and herb layer of the stand is lush. The onion-tooth root occurs in the NSG .

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, it was designated as:

  • "For the preservation of communities or habitats of certain wild plants and wild animal species,"
  • "For scientific, natural history, regional or geological reasons,"
  • "Because of the rarity, special character or outstanding beauty of the area,"
  • “Preservation of the well-developed alder forest as a seldom community and a biotope type in need of protection according to § 20 c BNatschG; near-natural stream course; high structural diversity. "
