Dağdelen belongs to the left wing of the party and was one of the first to sign the appeal for the founding of the inner-party tendency of the anti-capitalist left, which is close to this wing .

After the speech of Israeli President Shimon Peres before the Bundestag on the day of the commemoration of the victims of National Socialism in 2010, she, like Sahra Wagenknecht and Christine Buchholz , did not join the standing applause of the other members of parliament. The behavior of the three MPs was also sharply criticized by Klaus Lederer and Michael Leutert from the reform-oriented wing of the party.

In 2010, Dağdelen declined the invitation from Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan to an event by the Turkish government in Istanbul, which was intended to encourage politicians of Turkish origin in their new homeland to be more politically active in the interests of Turkey. But whoever knows it and calls it a lie is a criminal! ". In a joint statement, the left-wing party and parliamentary group chairmen Katja Kipping , Bernd Riexinger and Gregor Gysi distanced themselves from Dağdelen's accusation of Göring-Eckart, but not from their findings on the participation of fascists in the government of Ukraine. Dağdelen then declared her astonishment at the party and parliamentary group leaders, since Heiner Geißler had used the same quote in 1983, which had no consequences. The Tagesspiegel headlined: No insight after derailment despite the unusual occurrence of a reprimand by the party leaders.
