Shelsley Motors was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Racing driver Raymond Mays founded the company in Bourne in 1938 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Raymond Mays . Production ended in 1939. A total of five vehicles were built.

The company made sports cars. A water-cooled V8 engine from the Standard Motor Company powered the vehicles. The engine with SV valve control developed 85 hp from a displacement of 2868 cm³ . Another source gives 63.5 mm bore , 100 mm stroke and 2686 cm³ displacement, but these dimensions result in arithmetic 2533 cm³ displacement. There was a choice of two and four-seater bodies.
