Cleco Electric Industries Ltd. was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Leicester company started producing commercial vehicles in 1936 . In addition, six cars were built between 1936 and 1940. The brand name was Cleco . Production ended in 1957.

The company made electric cars. The only car model was a sedan , similar to the VW Beetle . The wheelbase was 1981 mm. The range is given as 88 km (at a speed of 23 km) or 120 km, depending on the source. The original price was £ 375 . That was three times the price of a comparable gasoline car like the Morris Eight .
