Sialkot District is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Punjab Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Sialkot .
The district has an area of 3,016 km² and according to the 2017 census of 3,893,672 inhabitants. The population density is 1291 inhabitants / km². The Panjabi language is spoken by the majority in the district .

The district is located in the north of the Punjab Province (Pakistan) and borders the disputed Kashmir region .
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 1.89% annually. Around 52% of the population live in urban regions and around 48% in rural regions. 1,921,643 men, 1,971,746 women and 283 transgender people live in 574,143 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 97.5 men per 100 women and thus a rare surplus of women for Pakistan. The literacy rate in the years 2014/15 among the population over 10 years of age was 77% (women: 75%, men: 81%) and thus above the Punjab province average of 63%.
