The district Bhakkar is an administrative district in Pakistan in the province of Punjab . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Bhakkar .

The district has an area of ​​8153 km² and according to the 2017 census 1,650,518 inhabitants. The population density is 202 inhabitants / km². The Saraiki language is spoken by the majority in the district .

location

The district is located in the central west of the Punjab Province, which is in the west of Pakistan. The district of Bhakkar borders on Layyah to the south, Jhang to the southeast , Dera Ismail Khan to the west, Khushab to the northeast and Mianwali to the north .

The district was established in 1982 from parts of Mianwali .

Demographics

Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew at an annual rate of 2.40% and therefore very quickly.
