The district Narowal is an administrative district in Pakistan in the province of Punjab . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Narowal .
The district has an area of 2337 km² and 1,709,757 inhabitants according to the 2017 census. The population density is 730 inhabitants / km². The Punjabi language is spoken by the majority in the district .
location
The district is located in the northeast of the Punjab Province, which is in the east of Pakistan. It borders the disputed region of Kashmir and India .

history
In 1991, the Narowal District was created from parts of Sialkot.
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017, the population grew by 1.59% annually. Around 15% of the population live in urban regions and around 85% in rural regions. 841,950 men, 867,712 women and 95 transgender people live in 239,916 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 97 men per 100 women and thus a rare surplus of women for Pakistan.
