The Mandi Bahauddin District also Mandi Baha ud Din is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Punjab Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Mandi Bahauddin .
The district has an area of 2673 km² and according to the 2017 census 1,593,292 inhabitants. The population density is 596 inhabitants / km². The Panjabi language is spoken by the majority in the district .
location
The district is located in the north of the Punjab Province, which is in the west of Pakistan. It is bordered to the northwest by the Jhelam River , to the southeast by the Chanab River (which separates it from the Gujranwala District and Gujrat District ), and to the southwest by the Sargodha District .

Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 1.68% annually. Around 14% of the population live in urban areas and around 86% in rural areas. 776,205 men, 816,971 women and 116 transgender people live in 252,120 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 95 men per 100 women and thus a rare excess of women for Pakistan.

The literacy rate in the years 2014/15 among the population over 10 years of age was 65% (women: 59%, men: 71%) and was thus above the Punjab province average of 63%.
