The album was mixed again with Markus Stock in the Klangschmiede Studio E in January 2006. The mastering took place in February in the Mailmen Studios in Utrecht , Netherlands, with the help of Martijn van Groenveldt.
The album was released on June 2, 2006 and has been available for download since August. On the 26th the video for the song "Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom" was released. In December 2006 the band signed a record deal with the German record label Twilight Records. The album was released again in 2007 under Twilight Records.
criticism
Overall, the reviews of the album were mixed. Markus Jakob from metalnews.de gives the album 6 out of 7 points and praises the good recordings and the “razor-sharp” production. He also highlights the band's authenticity:
"If fantasy and medieval themes can be perfectly set to music in metal, it is by this band."
Schwermetall.ch, in turn, awards 8 out of 13 points and criticizes the mastering of the CD:
"Everything is equally loud, no dynamics, the drums (especially the cymbals) come and go, thanks to the total over-compression of the drum bus"
Ronny Bittner from the German metal magazine Rock Hard praises "The combination of Swedish Death and Pagan elements" and criticizes the mix:
"However, the flute has often been mixed too presently, while unfortunately not so much can be heard from the two violin players."
Despite the 4 out of 7 points achieved in the Metal Hammer Soundcheck , Gunnar Sauermann's review in issue 12/2006 is sobering:
“The mixture [of Melodic Death Metal and Irish / Celtic folklore ] is quite original at first, but in the long run the island tootling gets tired. Then rather The Bothy Band or Planxty with the original. Only the excellent production from the Klangschmiede Studio will save SPIRIT from falling into deeper abysses. "
