geography

The village forms a closed settlement with Lauenstein to the south and is surrounded in the west and north by arable land and grassland, while in the east the forest area Falkenstein and Pechleite borders east of Lauenstein , which is designated as a nature reserve . It is located on a slope halfway up the Ratzenberg ( 678  m above sea level , 1.1 km west) and the Alte Burg ( 622  m above sea level , 0.6 km north), both elevations of the Franconian Forest . The Thuringian Control Center is on the Ratzenberg . A communal connection road runs west to below the Ratzenberg and then leads back in a large arc to Ebene . A service road branches off from this to the Thüringer Warte.

history

Springelhof was originally a manorial farm . In 1718 it was sold and broken up. Towards the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties in Springelhof (2 whole chamber goods , 2 half chamber goods, 1 quarter chamber property , 1 eighth chamber property, 1 drip house ). The high court exercised the Bavarian office of Lauenstein . The Lauenstein caste office held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties .

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Lauenstein . With the community edict, Springelhof was assigned to the Lauenstein tax district formed in 1808 and the Lauenstein rural community formed in 1818 . On May 1, 1978, Springelhof was incorporated into Ludwigsstadt as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
