The staff captain lieutenant is one of the ranks of the German armed forces for naval uniform wearers . The legal basis is the order of the Federal President on the rank designations and uniforms of soldiers and the Soldiers Act .

Salutation

According to central guideline A2-2630 / 0-0-3 "Military forms and celebrations of the Bundeswehr" (formerly ZDv 10/8), the salutation is always "Mr. Staff Captain Lieutenant". The central guideline also explicitly refers to the "Herr Kaleu" used in the vernacular of the Navy as a short form for "Herr Kapitänleutnant "; therefore, when addressing the staff captain lieutenant, the oral address "Mr. Stabskaleu" has become commonplace.

Rank badge

The rank insignia of the lieutenant commander show four sleeve stripes on both lower sleeves . The two outer stripes are medium wide; the two inner ones narrow. The career badge is the five-pointed star for all staff captains .

Others

The rank designation for air force and army uniform carriers of the same rank is staff captain. With regard to authority, time of introduction, appointment , pay , the subordinate and higher ranks, similarly also with regard to the positions, staff captains lieutenants and staff captains are on an equal footing. Both ranks were newly created on March 23, 1993 for officers in the military technical service .
