The voiced fricative alveolopalatale is a voiced , alveolopalataler fricative . The consonant sounds for German as a mixture of the voiced alveolar fricative [ z ] (the s in "sun") and voiced postalveolar fricatives [ ʒ ] (the sch in "jungle"), wherein the tongue is not (as in the voiced retroflex Fricative [ ʐ ]) is bent behind the dental dam.

The voiced alveolopalatal fricative has the following phonetic and orthographic realizations in different languages :
