Stroitel ( Russian Строитель ) is a city in Belgorod Oblast ( Russia ) with 23,933 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located about 20 km northwest of the oblast capital Belgorod in the area east (left) of the Worskla , a left tributary of the Dnieper .
Stroitel is the administrative center of the Rajons Jakowlewo .
history
Stroitel was created from 1958 in connection with the development of the iron ore deposits of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly and the planning of the Yakovlev opencast mine . The name means pathetic builder in Russian , on the other hand simply construction worker .
Urban-type settlement status was granted in 1960 and town charter in 2000.

Culture and sights
In the village Kryukovo the Rajons is the Virgin Birth Church ( Рождествено-Богородицкая церковь / Roschdestweno-Bogorodizkaja Tserkov) in Tomarovka the Church of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan , shortly Kazan Church ( Казанская церковь / Kazanskaya Tserkov) and Puschkarnoje the Assumption Assumption Church ( Успенская церковь / Uspenskaja zerkow) received.
In the settlement of Yakovlevo there is a memorial museum of the battle of the Kursk Arch , in the village of Alexejewka there is a museum for the theater actor Mikhail Shchepkin (1788–1863), one of the founders of the Russian drama school.
economy
The economy of Stroitel as an industrial satellite town of Belgorod is determined by companies in the construction and building materials industry.
The Jakowlewo iron ore mine ( Jakowlewski rudnik ) is located in the Rajon .
The city is the end of a 22-kilometer railway line that branches off the Belgorod– Sumy ( Ukraine ) line at Tomarowka station (freight traffic only); The closest passenger station is Saschnoye a good ten kilometers northeast on the Moscow - Kursk - Kharkiv route .
The M2 Moscow – Kursk – Belgorod – Ukrainian border and further to Kharkiv (part of the European route 95 ) runs east of Stroitel.
