The Stromberg-Schwäbischer Wald-Weg is the main hiking trail 10 (HW 10) of the Swabian Alb Association . With a total length of 170 kilometers, it runs from Pforzheim via Marbach and Backnang to Lorch in the Remstal and crosses the Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park and the southern Swabian-Franconian forest .

Route

The Stromberg-Schwäbischer Wald-Weg begins in Pforzheim -Kupferhammer at the same point where the three major hiking trails of the Black Forest Association ( Westweg , Mittelweg , Ostweg ) begin. Our path initially leads east in the Würm valley , but soon turns north and reaches the Enz near Illingen . Here you reach the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park, and continue to the northwest over the Eselsburg Tower to Sternenfels . Now the main hiking trail 10 bends sharply to the east and leads over the elongated ridge of the Stromberg . In Besigheim hikers reached the Neckar .

The hiking trail now runs through the Neckar basin , grazes Bietigheim-Bissingen and Freiberg and finally reaches Marbach. Here you cross the Neckar and continue east to Backnang. Continue in a south-easterly direction via Rudersberg , Urbach and Plüderhausen to the end point Lorch.

mark

The path is marked with a red crossbar on a white background according to the main hiking trails of the Swabian Alb Association. Usually, but not always, the text "HW 10" can be found in black below or above the bar.

Sights along the way

First and foremost, Marbach am Neckar should be mentioned with its historic old town, the Schiller National Museum and the German Literature Archive . But there is also a remarkable cityscape in Besigheim and Backnang.
