King Sunjong ( Korean 순종 ) (born December 28, 1047 in Kaesŏng , Kingdom of Goryeo , † December 5, 1083 in Kaesŏng, Goryeo) was the 12th king of the Goryeo Empire and the Goryeo Dynasty during his reign from 1083 to 1083 ( 고려 왕조 ) (918-1392).

Life

Sunjong was the eldest son of King Munjong ( 문종 ) and his wife Queen Inye ( 인예 ), who came from the Incheon Lee clan. At his birth, Sunjong was given the name Wang Hun ( 왕훈 ). In 1054, at the age of seven, he was made crown prince and succeeded his father on the throne when he died on September 2, 1083. King Sunjong's term of office was only three months, as he died in December of his coronation year.
