Superlative Adventure Club
The Superlative Adventure Club (SAC) is a Europe-wide organizer of adventure charity rallies with young and oldtimers based in Hamburg (GmbH) and the Netherlands.
history
The SAC was founded in 2010 by the brothers Daniel and Sebastian Kaerger in Hamburg . Due to the personal passion for adventure and traveling to remote places as well as the interest in foreign cultures, the brothers decided to organize "adventure rallies for everyone".
The first rally premieres were successfully celebrated as early as 2011 with the Baltic Sea Circle and Three Wheels on India. Further rallies were launched up to 2017: the Black Sea Circle, The European 5000, Knights of the Island and the Urban Challenge Hamburg.
Two new rallies followed in 2018 , the Baltic Sea Circle Winter Edition and the Balkan Express.
During the rallies, special emphasis is placed on interacting with the culture and people of the respective country. Another basic idea behind the rallies is to combine adventure with a charitable cause. In the 2019 season, € 1,350,000 in donations were collected for national and international charity projects.
The field of participants and the range of SAC adventure rallies has been growing steadily since 2011, with over 250 teams starting from the Hamburg fish market towards the North Cape at the Baltic Sea Circle in 2017 & 2018 .
The concept
The rallies are contested with both young and old timers . The regulations allow cars and motorcycles that are 20 years of age and older. Only road maps and a compass are used to navigate; electronic aids are not permitted. The routes run away from the motorways. In contrast to classic rallies, in SAC adventure rallies it is not the speed that is assessed, but the fulfillment of tasks defined in the road book. These tasks serve to lead the participants to special places and to interact with the locals.
Charity
Each team collects at least € 500 in donations for a charitable cause of their choice. The donations are donated directly to the respective organizations via an online donation platform. The SAC works closely with charity partners from social and humanitarian fields and environmental protection. In addition to the charity partners of the SAC, the participants are also free to support local or regional organizations from their own environment.
