Suzie Kerstgens
Suzie Kerstgens (* 1971 in Geldern ) is a German pop singer and lyricist . She is a founding member and singer of the band Klee .
Life
Suzie Kerstgens lived at the Stiftsgymnasium Xanten in Sonsbeck until she graduated from high school . She completed classical ballet and dance training and, after graduating from high school, studied philosophy and German at the University of Duisburg-Essen .
In the mid-1990s she began a musical collaboration with Sten Servaes and Tom Deiniger and played with them in the band Ralley . After a long break, the band was re-founded in 2002 under the name Klee . Kerstgens lives and works in Cologne .

Suzie Kerstgens is involved alone and together with her band in various social projects, e.g. B. at Pro Asyl , Aktion Mensch and Fairtrade . Since 2007 she has been a member of the jury of the Sustainability Mission of the Council for Sustainable Development , alongside TV chef Sarah Wiener and TV presenter Tobi Schlegl . Suzie Kerstgens is also a member of the jury in the context of the “Children's song competition by WDR ( WDR 5 ) and UNICEF ”. Suzie Kerstgens is active for the German Cancer Aid as part of the “Mädchen checken das” campaign, which was launched in September 2007, and wrote the song Sing Dein Leben with Elke Brauweiler from the band Paula , Marta Jandova from Die Happy , Stefanie Kloß from Silbermond and Valentine Romanski recorded.
In 2009, Suzie Kerstgens wrote the lyrics for the song We hold together , which was composed and produced together with KLEE. The project was supported by the LVR and implemented together with people with and without disabilities. As a result, the song was not only performed with KLEE, but also with the band Höhner (2009) and the LVR generation choir (2010).
On July 20, 2011, the Stiftsgymnasium in Xanten , where Suzie Kerstgens graduated from high school, was awarded the title School Without Racism - School With Courage . Suzie Kerstgens has been the sponsor of the project at the Stiftsgymnasium since the preparations began in 2010.
Suzie Kerstgens supports the Cologne Aids Aid in various ways . On December 10, 2011, she performed at the Cologne Palladium at the Cover me concert , the benefit concert of the Cologne Aids Aid organization. Suzie Kerstgens sang the song Codo… düse im Sauseschritt in a duet with Dirk Bach . On April 25, 2012, Suzie Kerstgens and Kim Fisher won Das NRW-Duell , moderated by Bernd Stelter , and donated part of the prize money to the Cologne Aids Aid.
