Radio Swiss Classic (formerly Classic ) is a music station of Swiss Satellite Radio , a division of SRG SSR , the public broadcaster in Switzerland. The program reaches almost 120,000 people every day across Switzerland. From 1956 to 1998 it was a special program of the existing Swiss telephone slogan . Radio Swiss Classic's sister programs are Radio Swiss Pop and Radio Swiss Jazz .

Music program

There is a non-stop offer of classical music. There are no verbal contributions and no messages, the pieces are announced in German, French and Italian. At night, Notturno , the joint night program from Radio SRF 2 Kultur and Rete Due , in which Espace 2 was also involved in the past, is taken over . The share of Swiss music averages 50 percent. The program is ad-free.

reception

The program can be received in Switzerland via cable, DAB + , throughout Europe via the Eutelsat Hotbird satellite in DVB mode and worldwide as a stream via the Internet. The previous broadcast on Astra Digital Radio has been discontinued. In South Tyrol , Radio Swiss Classic is broadcast by the Südtirol broadcasting company in the DAB + standard.
