Tambowka ( Russian Тамбо́вка ) is a village (selo) in the Amur Oblast ( Russia ) with 7613 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is about 40 km as the crow flies east -south- east of the Blagoveshchensk Oblast Administrative Center in the Seja-Bureja plain . It is located on the right bank of the Giltschin river, which flows into the Amur almost 50 km southwest , which marks the border with the People's Republic of China .

Tambowka is the administrative center of the Rajons Tambowski and seat of the rural community Tambowski selsowet, one of the next to the Tambowka still the village Kossizino.

history

The village was founded in 1873 by resettlers from the Tambov governorate and named after the city of Tambov . It quickly developed into one of the larger agricultural centers of the area, has been the seat of a district administration since 1926 and is now the most populous village in the oblast.

Tambovka is located on the regional road R461, which leads from Blagoveschensk to the eastern part of the Oblast with the city of Raichichinsk and on to Novobureiski on the M58 Amur Chita  - Khabarovsk highway. In Tambowka, the R461 is crossed by the R465 , which connects Yekaterinoslawka , further northwest on the M58, with the neighboring district center of Konstantinowka on the Amur to the south .
