Taurus Awards 2002
The Taurus Awards 2002 were the second presentation of the Taurus Award , an American award for film stunts, which took place on May 31, 2002 as in the previous year in the Santa Monica Barker Hangar. The most important awards went to the stunt professionals from the films The Fast and the Furious , Rush Hour 2 and Knights from Passion .
Award
Arnold Schwarzenegger opened the hour-long show. Jackie Chan , director Michael Bay and stunt legend Buddy Van Horn were honored with Taurus Honorary Awards for their continued support of the stunt community and contribution to the world of action films.
One of the highlights of the evening was the first awards given by the Taurus World Stunt Awards Foundation to recipients Jacob Chambers and Harry Wowchuck, who were both injured while performing a dangerous stunt in 2001.
Live stunts were performed on stage, including Arnold Schwarzenegger falling from a helicopter.

The awards were given in 14 categories, in which a total of 25 different films were nominated. The film Rush Hour 2 was nominated the most with nine nominations. With five awards, The Fast and the Furious received the most Taurus Awards that a film has so far collected at an award ceremony. This record was only set at the Taurus Awards 2009 by the production The Dark Knight .
