Thilo Henrik Schrödel

Thilo Henrik Schrödel (born March 16, 1973 in Munich ) - also known under the pseudonym "Der Schwede" - is a German-Swedish actor, presenter, speaker, author and communication scientist.

Life

Since his mother comes from Malmö in southern Sweden, Schrödel has both German and Swedish citizenship. This earned him the nickname "Old Swede" in the circle of friends and later only "Swede" for short. In his work as a moderator he later used this nickname as a stage name.

Moderation on the radio

Schrödel came to the moderation through his studies of communication science at the LMU Munich , during which he helped to set up the training and further education channel Radio M94.5 . With his fellow students Raphael Rossmann and Mike Hager , he produced the weekly comedy show “The Hour of Reckoning” under the pseudonym “The Old Swede” on this station from June 1996 to December 1997. The show became an insider tip on the Munich radio scene and led to a CD release in January 1998, which received surprisingly good reviews in the satirical magazine Titanic .

This caught the attention of TV presenter and radio comedy legend Jochen Bendel ( Ruck Zuck , Dr. Ben), who hired the three for the morning show Bendel & Co on Energy Munich 93.3. Schrödel worked here from October 1997 to December 1998 as a com presenter and comedy writer. He then worked for Antenne Bayern for four years as a comedy writer and speaker. At the same time, together with Jochen Bendel, he created comedy series for the nationwide youth broadcaster Megaradio such as Castle Pentium with Roberto Blanco as the spokesman for King Bios.

Television career

Schrödel began his acting career at the age of eight, after he and his older brother Tobias Schrödel were cast in 1981 for the children's mystery series Anderland and engaged as actors. This was followed by other roles as a child actor on German television and on the stage of the Bavarian State Opera . Schrödel is still active as an actor at irregular intervals. He has worked on: Tatort , Der Fahnder , Der Bergdoktor , Wildbach , Aus clear sky , gynecologist Dr. Markus Merthin , a Bavarian on Rügen , veterinarian Dr. Engel or The Rosenheim Cops . He was also seen in a commercial for the Irish beer brand Harp , which was only broadcast in Ireland.

Night Hawk and Big Brother

The friendly collaboration with Jochen Bendel culminated in 2003 in the live late night show Nachtfalke on the revived private broadcaster Tele 5 . Initially conceived as a late night show, after a month the Nachtfalke concentrated on the secondary exploitation of the RTL II broadcast Big Brother - The Battle (season 4). The daily summary of RTL II was repeatedly and critically commented, switched live to the Big Brother house in Cologne and feedback was maintained by telephone with fans and viewers. In addition, former residents were invited to the show as guests.

The inclusion of Big Brother helped the Nachtfalken to achieve relatively good ratings, even if this restricted the content of the program considerably. Nevertheless, Bendel and Der Schwede tried to maintain the anarchic character of the show through pranks on the phone, rehearsed skits or unorthodox treatment of the guests. To this day, the Nachtfalke is associated with Big Brother , although - in addition to the "Ur-Nachtfalke", other RTL II programs such as Fame Academy or Frauentausch were processed . However, the fifth Big Brother season - which lasted a whole year - meant that more moderators had to be hired for this daily live broadcast. Thilo Henrik Schrödel advanced from Jochen Bendel's sidekick to co-host of z. B. Mandana Naderian , Simon Krätschmer or Dennie Klose and moderated as the only presenter of Nachtfalke over 500 programs up to the end of the show in September 2005.

Schrödel later remained loyal to the Big Brother franchise and accompanied the eighth to eleventh season and the first season of Celebrity Big Brother as the editor responsible for the Big Brother channel at Premiere and SKY .

Other television programs

For the comedy show StandUpMigranten auf Einsplus , he created comic recorders with Abdelkarim and Marek Fis in 2014 .

Schrödel has hosted the stand-up comedy show Punchlines from the Munich Boxwerk on Munich TV since 2015 .

Behind the camera, Thilo Henrik Schrödel also works as an author. For four years he wrote presentations and texts for Joko Winterscheidt , Klaas Heufer-Umlauf , Gülcan Kamps and Collien Ulmen-Fernandes for the music broadcasters VIVA and MTV . In 2007 he also wrote the texts for the Austrian reality show Das Traumhaus ( ATV ) and in 2009 comedy texts for the Stermann & Grissemann show " In the connection: News from Waldheim " on SKY.

Teaching assignments

Thilo Henrik Schrödel has a teaching position at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Passau , where he holds seminars on comedy in television and advertising.
