Three Sides Live (English for: " Drei Seiten Live ") is the third live album by the British rock band Genesis . It was released in June 1982 .
background
The album was released in two different versions. The USA version was a double LP, of which only three sides were stocked with live recordings (hence the title Three Sides Live ). The fourth LP side contained unreleased titles that were created during the Abacab and Duke recordings . The British version of the album, however, contained recordings from the 1977 Genesis tour on the fourth LP side . These are mainly older pieces from the progressive rock phase of Genesis in the 1970s . In Germany, Vertigo first published the USA version. In England the EP 3 × 3 was later released, which contains three of the unreleased titles from the US version of Three Sides Live . In Germany, the EP was successfully released as a single shortened by one title.
Three Sides Live reached number two on the UK album charts. In the USA, the album could reach tenth place. Recordings of the USA tour were also released on VHS video and later as laser disc under the same title . A DVD edition was submitted in the movie box in 2009 .
In 1994 the album was remastered in the Definitive Edition series and the original British version was now also distributed in Germany.
