Tietjen and Bommes was a talk show on NDR television that was broadcast once a month on Fridays from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The show was last named after the presenters Bettina Tietjen and Alexander Bommes . In addition to prominent talk guests from politics, culture, sport and society, unknown guests - "who have something to say" - were invited. The show had an average market share of 16.3 percent in the broadcast area.

History of the show

On January 17, 1997, the program, initially conceived as a “Talk Illustrierte”, started under the title Star Whisper . The program broadcast at the time from the “Hanseatic Lounge” ( Terminal 2) at Hamburg Airport was the first talk format in Germany to be moderated by two women: Eva Herman and Bettina Tietjen. The pre-recorded interviews of international musicians and Hollywood stars were recorded in the program.

In May 1999, the concept of the show was changed and the talk show Herman and Tietjen developed from it with up to eight live guests. The programs were initially broadcast from a NDR studio in Hamburg-Lokstedt , and from March 2000 onwards from the "Elbkuppe" of the Hotel Hafen Hamburg in Hamburg-St. Pauli - with a panoramic view of the port of Hamburg .

In the years 2001 to 2003, individual programs were broadcast as external broadcasts in the broadcasting area of ​​NDR television: in Schwerin Castle , in the Herrenhausen Gardens of Hanover and in Glücksburg Castle in Schleswig-Holstein . In May 2005 the program was extended by 15 minutes to allow follow-up discussions with guests. At this point in time, the show achieved a market share of up to 16 percent in the broadcasting area and up to 1.5 million viewers nationwide.

From January 20, 2006, the program was produced in the Lower Saxony state capital, Hanover . The recordings were initially made in a restaurant in the former Royal Riding Hall of the former Prussian Military Riding Institute in Hanover-Vahrenwald .

On September 12, 2007, the NDR decided to continue the talk show as a talk with Tietjen after Eva Herman's dismissal . On September 14, 2007, Tietjen and Reinhold Beckmann hosted the show. Four days after the broadcast, the NDR announced that Yared Terfa Dibaba would present the show as a guest presenter - alongside Tietjen - until the end of 2007. In December 2007 he was announced as the permanent presenter of the show, which from January 2008 was then called Die Tietjen und Dibaba . Since March 2008, Die Tietjen and Dibaba has been broadcast from a television studio at the Hanover Exhibition Center .

From September 2009 Eckart von Hirschhausen replaced Yared Dibaba. The new name was Tietjen and Hirschhausen . Hirschhausen was once represented by the entertainer Ina Müller . In 2012, Hirschhausen was presented by Guido Cantz as part of the show Do you understand fun? tricked.

On November 28, 2014, Hirschhausen left the talk show at her own request. Since February 6, 2015, Tietjen has been leading the show together with Alexander Bommes . The new program name was Bettina and Bommes . From June 2017, the name of the program was renamed Tietjen and Bommes .

On January 13, 2017, the 250th broadcast of the talk show was broadcast. Erol Sander , Anna Maria Mühe , Kostja Ullmann , Marianne Koch , Constantin Schreiber , Jenny Jürgens , Thimon von Berlepsch and Abdelkarim were invited as guests .

In mid-June 2019, Alexander Bommes announced that he would leave the show after around four years. Bommes hosted the talk show for the last time on July 12th. On June 19th it was announced that Jörg Pilawa would succeed Alexander Bommes. The show was incorporated into the NDR Talk Show and lost its own name. For the first broadcast on August 9, 2019, which Tietjen moderated without pilawa, a. Pascal Hens , Kathy Kelly , Thomas Ohrner and Bastian Bielendorfer were invited. There are three editions of the NDR Talk Show per month .
