Tom Baack (born March 13, 1999 in Essen ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with the second division SSV Jahn Regensburg . He is mainly used as a central defender and is a multiple junior national player.

Career

Baack was born in Essen and started playing soccer at the SV Leithe district club. At the age of seven, he was accepted into the VfL Bochum youth training center .

As the captain of the club's A youth team, he was scheduled to play as a substitute for the first team in the summer of 2016, but was not used due to an injury. After further training sessions with the pros, the defender was in the men's field for the first time in the 1-0 home win against Arminia Bielefeld on matchday 9 of the second division season 2018/19 and, in addition to two short appearances, was also in the starting line-up once. At the end of the season he finished eleventh with VfL and did not extend his expiring contract.

After 13 years in Bochum, Baack signed a contract with league competitor SSV Jahn Regensburg in spring 2019, which was valid until June 2022 .

National team

The central defender has so far played international matches for all junior national teams from the U16s.
