Charalambos "Babis" Makridis ( Greek Χαράλαμπος Μακρίδης ; * July 5, 1996 in Minden ) is a German - Greek football player . The striker is under contract with SSV Jahn Regensburg .

Career

Makridis played in his youth in his East Westphalian hometown of Minden at Union Minden and at SV Kutenhausen-Todtenhausen. After a trial session, he was accepted into the A-youth of SC Verl and was scheduled for the next year for the regional league team. The attacker missed the start due to a meniscus operation and subsequently gained match practice in the regional league; From the 2016/17 season he was a permanent member of the first team. In 29 competitive games, Makridis scored five goals and prepared another goal, in the Westphalia Cup he reached the quarter-finals with Verl.

In the summer of 2017, the Greek-German was signed by Borussia Mönchengladbach and continued to play in their second team in the Regionalliga West. In his second season with the foals Makridis had eight points scorer in 30 league games and was fourth with the team. After already eleven goals and two assists between summer and autumn 2019, the striker was allowed to train with the Bundesliga team and sat on the bench four times under head coach Marco Rose in the top German division.

In the following winter break, Makridis signed a contract with the second division SSV Jahn Regensburg that was valid until June 2023 . He was substituted on shortly before the end of the game in the 1: 2 against Dynamo Dresden on matchday 24 of the 2019/20 second division season.

Personal

Makridis chose the nickname "Babis" for himself because of his first name, which is complicated by German standards.
