Career

Weidinger was born in Regensburg and started playing football at the age of five at SV Wenzenbach in the municipality of the same name in the Regensburg district .

At the age of seven he was accepted into the junior performance center of SSV Jahn Regensburg and trained there. With the exception of the time in the U15 and U16, which Weidinger spent at 1. FC Nürnberg , he went through all of the other Jahn junior teams.

From the summer of 2016, Weidinger was part of the Regensburg U21s , with whom he played in the state and Bavarian leagues. After the goalkeeper had already been in the professional team's squad four times at the beginning of 2017, he was permanently integrated into their squad as a representative of Philipp Pentke and André Weis for the 2018/19 season . In addition, he was still the goalkeeper of the Bayern league team. On the last game day of the season, Weidinger was substituted on in the 2-2 draw against SV Sandhausen shortly before the end in his own stadium for regular goalkeeper Pentke, who left Regensburg for Hoffenheim after four years . In April 2019, the goalkeeper extended his expiring contract until June 2021.
