The Toyota TF106 was the fifth Formula 1 - racing cars of Toyota Racing . The car designed by Mike Gascoyne took part in 6 of 18 races in the 2006 Formula 1 World Championship , was driven by the German Ralf Schumacher and the Italian Jarno Trulli and achieved third place as the best result (Schumacher at the Australian Grand Prix ) .
The revised car, called TF106B , was used for the remaining twelve races . The driver pairing stayed the same. The best result was two fourth places (Trulli at the French Grand Prix and Schumacher at the US Grand Prix ) - which meant that the team finished the constructors' championship with 35 points in sixth place out of eleven in its fifth season. The V8 engine RVX-06 was used
for both the TF106 and the TF106B . The tires came from Bridgestone .
