Trauma is a Polish death metal band from Elbląg , which was founded in 1986 under the name Thanatos .

history

The band was founded in 1986 under the name Thanatos. Under this name they released two demos, called Deo optimo maximo (1989) and Out of Sanity (1990). This increased the band's popularity. In May 1992 the band recorded the demo Invisible Reality in the Polish Selani Studio in Olsztyn . In December she changed her name to Trauma.

In October 1993 the band recorded their debut album called Comedy Is Over . The recordings took place in the Polish SL studio in Gdynia . The album was released in the fall of 1996 via Vox Mortis Records exclusively in cassette format. In October 1997 work on the second album called Daimonion was finished, the recordings took place in the Selani Studio. In addition, the band reached a contract with Pagan Records . The album was released on the label together with newly mastered songs from the Invisible Reality demo . From 1997 to 1999 some regional tours and various concerts and festivals in Poland followed.

In 2000 the band re-entered the studio. The recordings took place in the Hertz Recording Studio in Białystok . The album Suffocated in Slumber was released in September of the same year. In the meantime, Pagan Records released the debut album Comedy Is Over again. The album was released for the first time in CD format, with a new cover design. In March 2001 the band signed a contract with the German label System Shock Records for a Europe-wide distribution. In the same month she went on the Reign Forever World Tour through the largest Polish cities with Decapitated and Vader . During the tour, the band recorded their first live album, Crash Test: Live . The album was released through Pagan Records in November.

In January 2002 the band held the Expression of Horror Tour together with Polish bands Devilyn and Misteria . In April the first international tour followed, called System Shock Over Europe Part Two , in which Master , Krabathor and Xenomorph also took part. The tour went through Germany and the Netherlands . After the tour, work on the new album began. In October 2002 the band performed at the Thrash'em All Festival , together with Monstrosity , Vomitory , Lost Soul , Skeptic , Dissenter and Contempt . After the tour, the band finished work on the next album. In early 2003 the band left Pagan Records and reached a contract with Empire Records in February .

This was followed by the recordings for the album Imperfect Like a God in 2003. On March 1, 2004, the band took part in the 18th Metalmania , which took place in Katowitz . There they played together with bands like Soulfly , Morbid Angel , Krisiun , Enslaved , Tiamat and Moonspell . In spring 2004 the band released Imperfect Like a God on the French label Adipocere Records . The Empire Invasion Tour followed in August with Dies Irae , Skeptic and Shadows Land .

Recordings for the next album called DetermiNation took place in May and June 2005 again in the Hertz Recording Studio. The album was released on August 15th via Empire Records. In the autumn some concerts took place in Poland to promote the new album. A tour with Dissenter and Vital Remains followed in October . Then they recorded their first video clip for the single Elegy for Doom , which was created under the direction of Piotr Majchrzak , front man of the band Mister . The clip was broadcast on many channels, including the US MTV 2 .

In early 2006, the band began working on the next album. In July they recorded the album at the Hertz Recording Studio. This resulted in the EP Hamartia and the album Neurotic Mass . The EP was released in August 2006 via Empire Records. At the same time, DetermiNation was released in the US and Europe through Unique Leader Records . In autumn 2006 the next tour called Blitzkrieg 4 followed with Vader, Azarath and Vesania .

Several concerts were held in 2007 to promote Neurotic Mass .

In May 2008 a tour called Rebel Angels Tour Vol.3 took place together with Hate , Crionics , Devilish Impressions , Naumachia and Numack . From July to August they took part in some festivals. In the fall, the band recorded the album Archetype of Chaos at the Hertz Recording Studio. Meanwhile, the band completed the Killing Assault Tour . The album was released in 2010 through Witching Hour Productions .

Trauma play aggressive Death Metal, the songs of which have a complex structure. Progressive elements are also processed in the songs.
