Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi was a place held annually football - friendly match between the Italian clubs AC Milan and Juventus . It took place in Milan's Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (formerly San Siro) and was created by the owner of AC Milan, Silvio Berlusconi , in memory of his father Luigi Berlusconi.

Until 1994 it was a tournament . Then it was decided to only play the classic between Milan and Juventus. In the event of a tie after normal playing time of 90 minutes, a penalty shoot-out will follow immediately without extra time . The match is headed by a renowned Italian referee , for example Pierluigi Collina in 1994 and 1995 , Gianluca Rocchi in 2006 , Nicola Rizzoli in 2008 and the scandal referee Paolo Dondarini in 2005 . After it was not played in 2013, the 2014 match took place between Milan and the winner of the Copa Libertadores , the Argentine club CA San Lorenzo de Almagro .

It was held for the first time in 1991. By the end of 2015, Milan had won thirteen and Juventus ten times at this Italian classic.
