Tupac: Resurrection ( English for: " Tupac: Auferstehung ") is a soundtrack album by the American rapper Tupac Shakur . It was published posthumously to the documentary of the same name Tupac: Resurrection on November 4, 2003 on the labels Amaru Entertainment and Interscope Records .

In addition to five previously unreleased tracks, the soundtrack mainly contains songs from Tupac's early career. One song each from his first three solo albums 2Pacalypse Now , Strictly 4 My NIGGAZ and Me Against the World is included. Two tracks are from the collaboration album Thug Life Volume 1 and other pieces are various collaborations with other rappers.
Production and samples
Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, served as executive producer on the soundtrack . Three previously unreleased songs were produced by rapper and music producer Eminem . Three instrumentals are also by Johnny "J" , while Shock G produced two songs. Other beats come from Easy Mo Bee , Stretch, 2Pac himself, Thug Music, Red Spyda, Chopmaster J and Strictly Dope.
Three tracks on the album contain samples from tracks by other artists. Runnin '(Dying to Live) samples the title Dying to Live by Edgar Winter , while The Realist Killaz contains elements of the song Hail Mary by Tupac himself. Starin 'Through My Rear View also includes a sample from In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins .

The album cover is sepia and shows Tupac looking at the viewer and wearing a white bandana on his head. The background is made up of various photos from Tupac's life. At the top of the picture is the white lettering This Is My Story and in the lower part of the picture is the words Tupac in yellow and Resurrection - Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture in white.
Guest Posts
Other artists besides Tupac Shakur are represented on eight songs on the album. His rap group Outlawz has three guest appearances in the songs One Day at a Time (Em's Version) , Secretz of War and Starin 'Through My Rear View . The rapper Eminem can also be heard on One Day at a Time (Em's version) , while The Realist Killaz is a collaboration with the rapper 50 Cent . The also shot rapper The Notorious BIG supports Tupac on the track Runnin '(Dying to Live) . Further guest contributions come from the rapper Tyson ( Panther Power ) as well as the rap groups Digital Underground ( Same Song ) and Thug Life ( Bury Me a G ).

Tupac: Resurrection entered the German charts at number 76 on November 24, 2003 and left the top 100 the following week before entering the charts again at number 85 in February 2004. Overall, the album was able to stay in the top 100 for six weeks. In the United States, the album entered the charts at number 2 and stayed in the top 200 for 22 weeks.
As singles , the songs were Runnin '(Dying to Live) and One Day at a Time (Em's Version) decoupled.
Sales figures and awards
Tupac: Resurrection was recognized with a platinum record in the United States for more than 1.6 million copies sold . The album also received a gold record in the UK for over 100,000 units sold.
