Better Dayz ( English for: better days ) is the eighth studio album by American rapper Tupac Shakur . It is the artist's third posthumously released album and was released on November 26, 2002 via the Death Row Records , Interscope and Amaru Entertainment labels .
Production and samples
Suge Knight and Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur were executive producers on the album . The music producer Johnny "J" produced eight tracks on the sound carrier, while three instrumentals each came from Nitty, Jazze Pha and EDI Mean. Two pieces each were produced by 7 Aurelius and BRISS. In addition, DJ Quik , Hurt-M-Badd, KP, GO Twice, Pitboss, Emcee NICE, Claudio Cueni and Troy Johnson were involved in the production of individual songs.
Five songs on the album contain samples from tracks by other artists. This is the title song is sampling Better Dayz the play Let's Fall in Love (Parts 1 & 2) of The Isley Brothers , while Catchin feelins elements of the title Peter Piper by Run-DMC includes. Late Night includes samples of the songs Have Your Ass Home by 11:00 by Richard Pryor , Wind Parade by Donald Byrd and Last Night Changed It All (I Really Had a Ball) by Esther Williams . This Life I Lead also samples the song Naturally Mine by Al B. Sure! and Who Do U Believe In contains elements of the title Manifest Destiny by Jamiroquai .
Cover design
The album cover is in black and white and shows Tupac Shakur with a bare chest. He is smoking a cigarette, has closed his eyes and is using his hands to tie his bandana on his head. On the right of the picture, the words Better Dayz are written in white from bottom to top, and 2Pac in brown.

In addition to Tupac Shakur, other artists appear on 22 of the 27 titles. His rap group Outlawz can be heard on eight songs ( Fuck Em All , Whatcha Gonna Do , Late Night , Fame , Catchin Feelins , There U Go , This Life I Lead , They Don't Give a Fuck About Us ). The rapper Jazze Pha has three guest appearances in the songs Fair Xchange , U Can Call and There U Go . The track Changed Man is a collaboration with rapper TI and singer Johntá Austin , while Tupac works with rappers EDI Mean and Kastro on Never B Peace . Tupac is supported by Nas and J. Phoenix on Thugz Mansion (Acoustic) , and rap group Cocoa Brovaz and rapper Buckshot are on Military Minds . On December 16, 2002, Better Dayz entered the German charts at number 45 and in the following weeks occupied positions 67, 82 and 69. Overall, the album was able to stay in the top 100 for nine weeks. In the United States, the album debuted at number 5 and stayed in the top 200 for 25 weeks.
As singles , the songs were Thugz Mansion (DE # 74, 6 wk.) And Still Ballin decoupled.
Sales figures and awards
For more than 1.7 million copies sold, Better Dayz was awarded three times platinum in the United States , as double albums are rated twice there. The album also received a gold record in the UK for over 100,000 units sold.
