Volker Schebesta (born June 13, 1971 in Oberkirch ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since 2001 . He is married and has four daughters.

education and profession

After graduating from the Hans-Furler-Gymnasium in Oberkirch and doing military service, Volker Schebesta began studying law in 1991 at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg , which he completed in 1998 with the second state examination in law. From 1998 to 2001 he was a government assessor in the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg and personal advisor to Minister Christoph Palmer .

Political activity

Volker Schebesta has been chairman of the Ortenau district association of the CDU since 2001. He has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since April 17, 2001, the beginning of the 13th electoral term. He received the direct mandate of the constituency of Offenburg in the 13th, 14th and 15th electoral terms . In the 16th electoral term in 2016 he lost the direct mandate to the Green Thomas Marwein , but came back to the state parliament with a second mandate.
When the green-black state government took office in May 2016, he was appointed State Secretary to the Ministry of Culture .
