Vrbovsko ( Serbian - Cyrillic Врбовско ) is a town and municipality in the Primorje-Gorski kotar County in Croatia .
Location and inhabitants
Vrbovsko is located in western Croatia near the Slovenian border at an altitude of 506 m. The village is located in the green Gorski kotar mountain range , in the river basin of the Kupa , Dobra and Kamačnik rivers . The municipal area comprises 65 districts, three of which are no longer inhabited. According to the 2011 census, the municipality has 5,076 inhabitants. The population consists predominantly of Croatians (60.15%) and a not inconsiderable part of the Serb minority (35.22%).
Attractions
Vrbovsko is one of the oldest villages in the Gorski kotar region. The city has many churches, including a monastery. The city also offers good access to nature thanks to its geographic location. The Kamačnik Nature Reserve is a popular hiking area.
