The Wölferlinger Weiher is located in the district of Wölferlingen between the places Wölferlingen and Langenhahn in the Westerwaldkreis . The Wölferlinger Weiher has been an official nature reserve since 1979 and is located on the 7-Weiher-Weg in the Westerwald . Together with six other reservoirs, from Count Friedrich III. Wied created in the 17th century, the Wölfer Linger pond is part of the conservation area Lakeland Westerwald .

The Wölferlinger Weiher itself is 1.02 ha in size and therefore significantly smaller than the other bodies of water in the Westerwald lake district. It is home to rare bird and plant species such as the blue sky ladder and the two-leaved forest hyacinth . The lake has marshland and shallow water zones at its edges. The nature reserve surrounding the lake has a size of about 90 hectares.

The Koblenz district government issued an ordinance on this on January 20, 1979, in which the protective purpose is described as follows:

"The protection purpose is the preservation of the wetland with its water surfaces, shallow water zones, swamps and subsequent moist grassland areas as a location for rare plants and as a habitat for threatened and rare animal species, especially rare bird species, for scientific reasons".
