The Hartenberg / Steincheswiese nature reserve is located in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . The approximately 18.56 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends in two parts northwest and southeast of the local community of Molsberg . The state road L 315 runs to the south and west , the B 8 runs to the west .

The purpose of protection is the preservation and development of the area as a habitat for endangered animal species, as a location for rare wild plants and plant communities that are threatened in their existence and for scientific reasons.
