The nature reserve Tongrube Beckershaid is located in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 29.2142 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1982 , extends southwest of the local community of Meudt directly on the L 300 state road that passes on the eastern edge . The B 255 runs to the west .
The protection purpose is the preservation of the wetland with its water surfaces , its shallow water zones and wetlands as a habitat in their population of threatened animal species, especially rare amphibians and reptiles for scientific reasons.
