The Hasenwiese nature reserve is the smallest nature reserve in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 4.0 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1986 , extends northeast of the local community Guckheim directly on the state road L 300 , which passes on the northwestern edge . The Elbbach flows on the southeastern edge of the area .

The protection purpose is the preservation of this landscape area

  • because of its geological nature
  • as a habitat of rare wild plant species that are threatened in their population and of threatened animal species as well
  • for scientific reasons.
