The nature reserve Steinbruch am Breiten Berg is located in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 6.5 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1983 , extends north of the local community Ötzingen . The Aubach flows to the west and the K 81 district road runs, the L 267 state road runs to the south and the B 255 to the east .

The protection purpose is the preservation of the abandoned quarry with its water and shallow water zones as a habitat for rare and threatened animal species for scientific reasons.
