The Senator Windows Welsh Professional Championship 1990 was a professional snooker tournament of the 1989/90 season without affecting the world rankings and determining the Welsh professional champions. The tournament was from 12 to 17 February 1990 at the Newport Center of Wales Newport discharged. In the final, Darren Morgan achieved his first win of the Welsh Professional Championship with a 9: 7 win over Doug Mountjoy . Morgan also played the tournament's highest break with a 130 break.
Prize money
Although the tournament is no longer on the WPBSA was supported, the sponsor was Senator Windows the tournament faithful, with the prize money to 1,600 pounds Sterling compared to the previous year to 27,600 £ was raised, of which about two-fifths on the winner accounted for.

Darren Morgan had only been a professional player since 1988, but had already won a tournament with the Pontins Professional in 1989 and had defeated the three-time tournament winner and ex-world champion Terry Griffiths as well as Colin Roscoe and Tony Chappel in the 1990 Welsh Professional Championship . In the final, he met Doug Mountjoy on the player who was the tournament's record winner with five titles and was in the final for the tenth time.
Mountjoy initially took the lead 0: 2 and 1: 3, but Morgan then equalized to 3: 3. After Mountjoy won the next frame, Morgan equalized with a 130 break and then took the lead for the first time and expanded it to 7: 4. Mountjoy came close to him at 7: 6 and 8: 7, but Morgan brought the victory to safe haven with an 80s break.
