Télévision Suisse Romande
Télévision Suisse Romande ( TSR ) was the public television service established in 1953 for the French-speaking audience in what is known as French-speaking Switzerland . On February 29, 2012, Télévision Suisse Romande merged with Radio Suisse Romande into the new Radio Télévision Suisse . The programs were renamed accordingly: TSR 1 became RTS Un, and TSR 2 became RTS Deux.
TSR and its successor RTS are based in a 17-story high-rise in Geneva . The broadcaster broadcasts its program on the RTS 1 and RTS 2 channels . TSR belongs to the SRG SSR group .
In addition to Geneva, the station also has editorial offices in Lausanne , Sion , Moutier , Friborg and Neuchâtel .
In addition to the terrestrial broadcasting that extends far into eastern France (recently also digitally via DVB-T ) and cable feed throughout Switzerland, the station can also be received encrypted via the Hot Bird 3 satellite and, since 2002, excerpts from the Internet. In addition, RTS 1 and RTS 2 in Switzerland (with a Swiss IP address ) can also be received via Zattoo .
TSR went on the air in 1954. In 1984, the broadcaster and France Télévisions helped set up the international francophone broadcaster TV5 .
